A Beautiful Quote

“Here’s to the crazy ones. The misfits. The rebels. The troublemakers. The round pegs in the square holes. The ones who see things differently. They’re not fond of rules. And they have no respect for the status quo. You can quote them, disagree with them, glorify or vilify them. About the only thing you can’t do is ignore them. Because they change things. They push the human race forward. And while some may see them as the crazy ones, we see genius. Because the people who are crazy enough to think they can change the world, are the ones who do.”

Home is wherever I’m with you

Every time I hear this song my mood is lifted so I thought I would share with you.  Oh and the lyrics are even better. =)

Edward Sharpe & The Magnetic Zeros – HOME

[Her:]
Alabama, Arkansas,
I do love my ma and pa,
Not the way that I do love you.

[Him:]
Holy, Moley, me, oh my,
You’re the apple of my eye,
Girl I’ve never loved one like you.

[Her:]
Man oh man you’re my best friend,
I scream it to the nothingness,
There ain’t nothing that I need.

[Him:]
Well, hot and heavy, pumpkin pie,
Chocolate candy, Jesus Christ,
Ain’t nothing please me more than you.

I thought this was pretty creative and worth sharing if you haven’t already watched it. Our imagination is sometimes all we need. “Imagination?”, you say. Yep I’m sure it’s still there somewhere.

Tsugi Podcast 160: Akabu

TS 160: Akabu Podcast Cover

I know its been awhile since I’ve posted anything.  I have good reason.  Won’t go into too many details but basically my entire hosting server crashed causing me to loose a ton of data.  I’ve been working hard getting my clients back up and running and have since moved them all to a new server.  I’m almost through getting everything back to how it was 2 months ago.

So on a positive note.  I was listening to this mix tonight while working and thought I would share it.  I really dug it.  This mix just feels good and I promise you wont loose interest half way into it.  I enjoyed it so much as soon as it was over I restarted it.  I hope you enjoy it just as much. :)

And here is the mix: TS160_Akabu.mp3

Twitter’s Official Tweet Button

Yes it’s true.  Twitter released an official tweet button on August 12th.  The new button give users the ability to share content quickly since you no longer need third party access.    Another feature of the official button includes a retweet counter which can be disabled if you like.  Above is a video explaining all the details of the official Twitter Button.

Google Wave Is No More

Google Wave R.I.P.

It’s official as of 8/04/2010 02:00PM.  Google has put Wave to rest.

“Wave has not seen the user adoption we would have liked. We don’t plan to continue developing Wave as a standalone product, but we will maintain the site at least through the end of the year and extend the technology for use in other Google projects.”

– Urs Hölzle, Senior Vice President, Operations & Google Fellow

I think Google Wave was a great idea and used amazing new technologies in our everyday browsers, but it wasn’t easy enough to use or understand for the average internet user.  I even had a hard time understanding it all.  I watched videos and was invited by friends to try it, but never saw a reason or an opportunity to use it.  I’m sure the hard core Google fans loved it and adapted to it quickly.

Google is keeping a lot of the technology they developed in Wave open source so programmers can continue the innovation they began.

Kevin Terry Dot US Number 1 On Google

Kevin Terry Dot US - Number 1 on Google

After over a year of promoting this site I’ve finally beat all the other Kevin Terry’s on the world wide web.  Kevin Terry Dot US is number 1 on Google when just simply typing Kevin Terry.  I know this might not seem like much but it was some little goal I had in the back of my head for sometime now.  Two other humans on this planet named Kevin Terry have been making it very difficult.  I’ve been targeting many different specific sites to help push kevinterry.us to the top. As I continued promoting placing my name and url on other sites I watched kevinterry.us slowly crawl to the top.

iPad Stop Motion Tear Down

Thought this was worth showing. Not sure I would attempt this myself but they do make it looks easy. I wonder how they get it open in the very beginning when it opens like a car hood.

Embody. A Healthy Investment

Herman Miller Embody®

Recently I made an investment for my health and comfort at the office.  I spend more time in a chair then I do standing.  At least 40 hours or more in front of a computer.  Over the years I’ve worked in terrible chairs that caused all sorts of back, neck, elbow, and shoulder problems.  I’ve also spent a healthy amount of time working in some pretty decent chairs including the Herman Miller Aeron and Mirra, but I still found myself adjusting often.  None of them fit just right.  Working my way into my 30s and becoming more aware of my posture and health I decided it was time to find a chair that works.  Their has to be one out there right?

After a lot of research I found the Herman Miller Embody.  Skipping right to it.  In my opinion, this is the most comfortable computer chair you can buy.  The technology in this chair is far above anything Herman Miller has done.   The Embody allows the body to move naturally into the most healthful seated postures and encourages working in a reclined position, the most healthful posture for computer users.  It’s a miracle.  Can it really be true?  After 7 years of sitting in front of a computer I feel comfortable!  This chair makes sitting at a computer enjoyable.  You almost forget you’re sitting.  There is no pressure on your hips or legs.  This overall freedom from physical constraint and discomfort means that blood circulates better, the heart slows down, and more oxygen flows to the brain, a critical advantage in an economy where ideas and innovation drive success.  I love this chair.  If you are in the market this chair is a must have.

I will continue to write about this chair as the days/months go by.  Below are some helpful bullets I pulled from the brochure.

· Creates harmony between people and computers.
· Enables and promotes healthful movement.
· Lets blood and oxygen flow more freely, enhancing ability to stay focused.
· Conforms to body’s movements in forward through reclined positions.
